Complimentary Consultation

At your first visit to our office the doctor will discuss your personal treatment goals, conduct a complete medical/dental history, a brief clinical exam and take x-rays only if necessary. Based on all this information a customized and comprehensive orthodontic treatment plan will be developed and discussed with each patient.

Treatment Options, Length of Treatment, Cost, and Payment Options will all be covered at this appointment.  And every patient will leave with a thorough understanding of the orthodontic process in our office.  Our entire team feel that taking the time to answer all your questions is just the first step to a great smile.

Records Appointment

At this appointment any remaining necessary x-rays will be taken, as well as pictures of the face and teeth, and quick-set impressions of the mouth.  This information is used by the doctors to map out the most effective and time efficient pathway to a wonderful smile.  At the end of the records appointment a mini-consult will be done to further educate our patient before beginning treatment.

Placing of the Braces Appointments

We place braces in two appointments rather than one in order to maximize the comfort and minimize adjustment time.  In the first of the two braces appointments the doctors will place all the braces top and bottom and spacers will be placed in preparation for the second appointment.  No wires are placed at this visit.  The doctors want to allow the patient lips to adjust to life with braces without any tooth soreness.  At the second braces appointment bands are placed on the molars and wires are fabricated and tied into place.  We start all patients on the lightest wire made in order to minimize initial orthodontic tooth movement discomfort.  Keeping our patients happy and smiling in the early stages is our utmost goal.

Routine Appointments

We see our patients on a 4-6 week interval in order to keep treatment moving along in a timely fashion.  These appointments take around 30 minutes and are crucial to treatment progress.  We pride ourselves on running on time and ask our patients to make sure they are on time as well.  If for any reason you cannot make an appointment we ask that you notify us immediately.

Retainer Appointments

Once active orthodontic treatment is finished every patient will be delivered retainers.  At each of these visits the doctors will examine the teeth, the bite, and the fit of retainers and make any necessary adjustments.   We watch all of our patients for one year in retainers, but believe retention is a life time activity.  Retainer appointments are usually quick and far less frequent than active orthodontic treatment appointments.
